Keith Don spent his life creating a technology that would liquify soils to reduce the cost of traditional excavation and would revolutionize the construction and mining industries. His obsession of his work consumed the family resources and was one of the reasons his son Jason left home. After multiple attempts to get the industry to accept his technology, he was laughed out of most meetings. The rejection from the industry and loss of his family because of this technology became too much. Keith's pain and hurt spiraled into rage.

He learned that Jason took a job with a construction company that rejected his technology, and it deepened his rage. He decided to unleash his technology on the contractor's project to make the contractor pay and, in a weird way, he thought it might make Jason come home. The result was a powerful landslide of mud that included a soil layer of slime. Unintentionally, he buried his own son in the slide. Keith was caught up in the landslide too. Days later, rescue crews unearthed Keith from the mud and debris in a pile of green slime near his ruined technology and assumed him for dead. The rescue team put a blanket over him to cover him up and went back to searching for other potential victims of the slide. When they returned to collect him and take him to the mortuary, he was gone.

Keith hid out in the woods. Over time, Keith began manifesting strange attributes: his skin began to almost melt into thick sludge, he grew lanky and tall, and he had a hard time breathing. He is now in a permanent state of liquified roiling soil. The metamorphosis also destroyed his mind and memory. He is now known as Eroder and he seeks destruction of all construction and agricultural work on the landscape. His pain and grief are the only thing that motivates him as he continues causing erosion and sedimentation wherever he goes!

Cement Slug

The Eroder uses the slime that caused his metamorphosis and the Slumper on areas where uncontained concrete washout occurs on construction projects. Cement Slugs come to life leaving slug trails of caustic high pH slime. The slime also has the effect of a binding agent and glues soils together making them impervious which can create more sheetflow than anticipated on projects. These Slugs are mindless three foot tall menaces and the Defenders use dry ice traps and dehydration salts to get rid of them.
