Originally working as an intern for Ben Thomas (AKA Chito-Man), Alicia Smith was the first to discover the neon blue bioluminescent shellfish that Ben then took credit for.

Her secret admiration for the entrepreneur turned to vengeful hatred as she was quickly cast aside. Her anger is focused on Chito-Man because he stole her research and did not give her credit for it. (A fact he has apologized for and tried to make right with her many times since.) ION-X will never forgive him and is bent on destroying him and his precious nanotechnology!

Funded by The Baron and fueled by determination, ION-X created her own anti-flocculation weapons designed to undermine Chito-Man's technologies by creating nanoparticles and dissolved pollutants which are practically undetectable. ION-X's wrath will not subside until Chito-Man has paid for his neglect and for overshadowing her!

Nanoizer

Nanoizers are the creation of Ion-X utilizing the same technology as her energy whips. She unlesses these nano-sized robots of destruction to cut and pull small chunks of metal, tire rubber, and non-stick and other seal coatings off of products and through them into their on-board Nanoreactor. They create pollutants such as dissolved metals, PAH (polyaromatic hydrocarbons), 6PPD and PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances). They are programmed to seek biopolymers and flocculants and destabilize them. Nanoizers create some of the more challenging pollutants for Chito-Man and the rest of the team to find and destroy.
